link 1: http://www.careerbuilder.com/JobSeeker/Jobs/JobDetails.aspx?IPath=QHKGCV&ff=21&APath=2.21.0.0.0&job_did=J8G83C6824TYJCY3XZB

For my first choice of a job I chose a Production Graphic Artist position out of Technology Media Group located in Dallas, Texas. The requirements for this position are: Full-time employee, design professional business graphics, assist and support digital productions, customer service, people skills, must be able to work with a team, advanced knowledge in Adobe program usage.
The words used in this job posting are verbs. Words that have action. These words help emphasize the requirements and tell you that it is a must that you have those abilities.
The person hiring is Cassandra Byerly from Technology Media Group.
I will have to focus on emphasizing on the knowledge of my skills in the usage of Adobe programs for design, due to the lack of the required experience needed.

My second choice is a job posting from Probado out of Chorpus Chritsti, Texas. The position being offered is a Web Designer/ Graphic Artist. The requirements for this position are:
Full-time employee, computer software and hardware knowledge, HTML and XHTML coding, and web programming programs.
The terminology used in this ad is more advanced. It talks more to a person with web designing experience at hand. A person who knows their way around web programming.
As far as who is hiring, they have a reference id which is Web Developer.
In order to obtain this job I would have to emphasize on my web developing and web design skills. The use and knowledge of the programs needed to get the job done will also be a plus.

FOLLOWER

In twitter I'm following harry cordero or harry_c. I follow him because he is my leader, just kiding!! I follow him because he is also a digital media designer, and a friend. His design concepts are kind of, sort of, similar. Therefore we have something that is a almost in common.

interesting blog: http://german-street-art.blogspot.com/

http://german-street-art.blogspot.com/ is a graffiti art blog. I found this blog through www.blogcatalog.com and found it to be interesting to me. Why? I personally am attracted to graffiti and all art forms, but graffiti is what catches my eye the most. I like this blog because it shows pictures of different art on walls in different areas, and in different places. It also shows different forms of graffiti such as, spray paint, paint brushes, stencil, and I think some marker. Either way I enjoy looking at graffiti art and pondering on what is being expressed through the markings.

Blog Questions

I chose the Http://maystardesigns.com/ blog. This blog from my point of view is directed to musicians or people that like music. But more of a punk rock type of music genre. They're main focus is to announce and show off their musical talent, and the type of music that they perform. It also holds information pertaining to when, where, and what times the band will be performing. As far as design, the designer chose bright cool colors which are very eye catching and appealing to the viewer. Everything is centered, but all design concepts such as placement, color schemes, etc., are complimenting each other very well. This blog or site is designed quite well in my opinion, one thing could change and that would be the font that was used for the information, its very hard to read after a while because it strains your eyes. That is one thing that you don't want to do your audience, you actually want them to be hooked, not turn away after a while. As far as interesting, the site is cool and really draws you in to click on the links and see what else it has to offer. A more effective way to keep an audience is to be legible. When using fonts you have to be careful that everything can be read. You don't want your audience to hurt their eyes or to struggle to read what your trying to say. If one thing could change on this site is once again the font used in the information. When it comes to digital identity, this site really does set their identity as a musician, that is open minded and free, but at the same time a bit dark, and outgoing. Viewing the photos posted, they do set themselves an identity that fits their personalities, and life style.

Personal Essay

Hey what’s up everyone! How’s it going? My name is Moises Contreras, but I go by either Moses or as known by most “Moe”. I am currently enrolled in the Digital Media Design program here at TSTC. I will be graduating in the spring of 2009. I do plan on getting my Bachelors in art from the University of Texas Pan American. I am going to try and see if I can attend both UTPA and TSTC during the fall and spring semesters so I can get a head start on my bachelors. After graduating from TSTC I do plan to finish off at UTPA.
In the long run, as far as my vision, after getting my bachelors in art I plan to get my certification in teaching and teach art at the middle school or maybe high school level. While doing that I do still plan on doing all of my digital media designing on the side. Which includes photography, print design, web design, etc. I do wish to be able to open my own design house or business where I can fulfill the design needs of businesses and of people in need of design concepts. My greatest interest is obviously art, and all that has to do with being creative and new, and if not new different. Art to me is like and everyday need, and not a day goes by where I don’t pick a pencil or pen and start to doodle away.
Composition classes have helped me develop the ability to put things on paper when they come to mind. Although at times what comes to mind and what is put on paper are not exactly words, but in forms of cartoons or some sort of drawing. The ability to put thoughts on paper is very helpful, and can even be an art, and thanks to composition classes, those thoughts can be organized, and set up to be an extraordinary portrait. It also helps you be a better communicator. Communication for me will play a big part in my career. As a designer and a future art teacher, my communication skills will have to be great. I have to speak to customers and maybe even organizations in order to introduce and explain design concepts. As far as being a teacher, I would have to speak to students of all ages, and different backgrounds. This course will help achieve communication skills, time management, and responsibility. This course is on-line and well the teacher isn’t physically there, so I have to be responsible enough to keep up with deadlines, and be able to communicate with the teacher through the internet. So with that said, I have to stop being a slacker. That was a joke!
